Day 21- Favourite Ship:
Rory & Jess (Gilmore Girls)“I’m sure you’ll do it. You will! I promise! I’ll even help you practice, ok? Tomorrow you’ll stand in the middle of the street and I will drive straight at you screaming in a foreign language”
So, this has accidentally turned into a bit of a Gilmore Girls fest - which was not my intention but anyway. I feel like I have waxed poetic over this relationship time and time again but this is only because there are too many reasons to adore them!!! I love their friendship - the fact that they would have actual, legitimate conversations with each other that didn’t have anything to do with furthering the plot of the show. The dichotomy of their different personalities and common interests. Jess didn’t have much conviction when it came to anything but he believed so much in Rory; in her and her faith in him and I’m making them sound sappy and melodramatic but they really weren’t. Especially in comparison to Rory’s other boyfriends - writing-wise, I think Rory and Jess’ relationship got the short end of the stick but it’s ok. I KNOW they are in Philly in their apartment above their bookstore which Luke and Lorelai visit from time to time - being the wonderful agoraphobic couple they were always intended to be.
Everything about the last sentence is why I love you. And them.
I love that idea! I’m still bitter we didn’t get a happy ending, but this is my personal canon. Gah, you’re making me wanna do a re-watch, BUT I HAVE NO TIME! ♥
