Oh, my goodness, I have no words for how good this scene is. I never expected to love this show, and this ship so much but my god. Josh Charles, where have you been all of my life? He absolutely broke my heart here, from his hopeful little “Hi,” to his exhausted “It’s fine,” when he faces says it is everything but. And how heartbreaking is his delivery of “But you came back”? And he never even tells her that he was looking for her too. God, and then the timing line. I am an unabashed sucker for the whole The One That Got Away thing and oh, that line. I love that line and everything implies. Now I wanna read angsty fic about them in Georgetown and it is nowhere to found!
